Introducing "Field Notes" - Faith Driven Hype Music

Picture this: You're in the gym at 5 AM. The bar's loaded. Your playlist is pumping. But then the lyrics hit—and suddenly you're choosing between music that hypes you up or music that honors your faith.

We've been there. We've skipped tracks mid-set. We've settled for "good enough" playlists that either compromise our values or just don't hit hard enough when we need that extra push.

Here's the truth: We couldn't find training session-ready, faith-forward music that made us want to run through walls while reminding us who gave us the strength to run in the first place.

So we decided to build it ourselves.

Today, we're pumped to introduce you to Field Notes—a new line of high-energy music specifically crafted for Christian athletes.

The Quick Version (TL;DR)

The News: We're launching Field Notes, music that brings locker-room intensity and kingdom-minded lyrics together.

The "Why": We couldn't find "gym-ready" music that matched our faith, so we decided to fill the gap ourselves.

The Tech: We're using AI as a creative tool—not a shortcut. Every lyric and song structure is human-led and rooted in Scripture.

The Theology: We believe God called us to be "sub-creators." We use technology to steward our time and express the joy of creating that God placed in all of us.

The Goal: To use modern innovation to honor God, steward our creativity, and eventually partner with more human artists to grow this space.

The Full Story

At Plays Bigger, we've always believed one thing: Athletes deserve tools that help them maximize their God-given potential—mentally, spiritually, and physically.

We started with motivational content on social media. Then we expanded to help Christian athletes gain more exposure. Now? We're going after something that's been missing for way too long.

Here's the thing: What you feed your ears and eyes matters just as much as what you feed your body. When everything aligns—when your mind, spirit, and body are all locked in—you become more efficient, more focused, more dangerous in the best way possible.

The Sound We've Been Searching For

For years, we've been hunting for a specific vibe: music with the high-energy intensity of a pre-game locker room that stays firmly rooted in Christian values. We wanted tracks that could stand toe-to-toe with the heaviest playlists in the gym, without the explicit lyrics or empty messages that pull us away from our ultimate purpose.

We know the struggle. You're trying to find "hype" music that doesn't compromise your faith. You want something that makes you want to attack the weight, crush the workout, dominate the field—while reminding you who gave you the strength to do it.

When we couldn't find exactly what we wanted—and what we knew our athletes would love—we decided to create it.

Today, we are excited to introduce you to our new musical identity: Field Notes

Field Notes: Where Competition Meets Conviction

The name was born from the intersection of sports and music.

Field: The arena. The gridiron. The court. The diamond. The track. The gym. The mat. It's any place where athletes and competitors test their limits and showcase the gifts God blessed them with, giving Him all the glory through their effort.

Notes: Rhythm. Melody. Music. The message that fuels the drive.

"Field Notes" is our way of delivering an auditory experience that fuels a life spent pursuing excellence and rooted in God's purpose—all set to beats that move you and help you push further.

Let's Talk AI (Yes, We're Going There)

We need to be completely transparent with you: We're leveraging cutting-edge AI tools to help bring these songs to life.

We know "AI" can be a loaded term. Some people love it. Some people are skeptical. As Christian creators, we don't think technology is something to fear—we think it's something to steward well.

Here are the three pillars that guided our decision to use AI for Field Notes:

1. The Mandate to Create

From the very first pages of Scripture, we see that God is a Creator. In Genesis 1:27-28, He creates us in His image and gives us the "Creation Mandate"—the call to subdue the earth and cultivate it.

J.R.R. Tolkien called this "sub-creation." God is the Primary Creator who made the world out of nothing. We're sub-creators who take the materials He provided and shape them into something new. Whether those materials are wood, steel, or lines of code, the act of creating reflects the Father.

2. The Tool vs. The Intent

Dr. John Lennox (mathematician and Christian apologist) has this brilliant analogy: A knife can save a life in a surgeon's hands or take one in a criminal's. The tool isn't the problem—the intent is.

Our intent with Field Notes is pure: to fill a void in the culture and provide music that strengthens your spirit while you strengthen your body. Psalm 33:3 says to "Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully with a shout of joy." AI is the instrument that lets us play skillfully in ways we never could before.

3. Human Soul vs. Digital Speed

In his book The Age of AI, Jason Thacker emphasizes that while AI can mimic intelligence, it can never mimic the human soul or the Imago Dei (Image of God).

We see AI as a catalyst, not a replacement. It allows us to work faster and explore more creative avenues, but the "soul" of Field Notes comes from our team—our prayers, our values, and our vision for the Christian athlete. It's a faster way to enable creativity, not a way to bypass it.

4. The Joy of the Craft

Beyond the ethics and the mission, there's a simpler reason we stepped into this space: Creating brings joy.

We believe that when we use our imaginations to build something new, we catch a glimpse of the delight God feels in His own creation. There's a unique kind of worship found in the "Aha!" moment—when a lyric hits perfectly, when a beat finally matches the intensity of the message, when a creative project comes together from vision to reality.

Using these tools has reignited our sense of wonder. And we believe the joy we felt in the creative process will be felt by anyone who shares our passion for sports rooted in faith when they hit “play."

This Isn't a Copy-Paste Operation

Let's be clear: These tracks aren't the result of a lazy "one-click" shortcut.

Just like an athlete uses data and technology to analyze their swing or track their recovery, we're using AI as a powerful tool to execute a very manual, very human creative process.

Lyric Crafting: Every word is written, reviewed, and refined by our team to ensure it aligns with Scripture and the athlete's mindset. There's no auto-generated fluff here. The message is 100% human-driven, and each song is based on a specific verse from the Bible.

Composition & Structure: We spend hours fine-tuning the song architecture—the builds, the drops, the flow—to match the rhythm of a heavy lifting session or a pre-game warm-up.

Genre Design: We've hand-selected specific blends of instruments and styles to create a sound that's uniquely "Field Notes." This is Christian music that isn't designed for a calm afternoon—it's built for getting hyped before hard work. It's something that didn't exist until we put our hands to the tools.

A Call to Creators: Join the Movement

Here's the heart of it: While we're proud of what we've built through this technology, our ultimate passion is rooted in Christ and the community of His church.

We're not looking to replace human artists. We want to inspire and champion them.

We believe that by filling this gap now, we can show the world what's possible and encourage more Christian artists to step into this high-energy athletic space.

If you're a Christian musician, rapper, or producer, we want to hear from you. Our goal is to use our platform to promote and potentially partner with artists who share our passion for Christ and sports. Consider Field Notes as one piece of that mission. We want to work alongside others who share this vision and uplift one another.
